School Dances

Whittier High School

Dance Policy

At Whittier High School our student pride is something we are proud of. Our dances are one of the most attended activities. Students are encouraged to participate in all school functions, and are approved to attend dances through the following practice of positive attendance:

  •       A student must maintain 95% Attendance at all times: this includes excused absences.

  •      All all-day truancies, unexcused absences, and period cuts must be cleared by attending Saturday or Sunday school. Excessive tardies can also result in Saturday or Sunday school.

  •     All assigned Saturday Schools must be served before the student can purchase a dance ticket.

Note: Students requesting to attend a dance must check absences in the Attendance Office (a minimum of 6 weeks before dance) by filling out a clearance form. This form will be available in the Business and Activities Office. When available, an announcement will be made a few times a week over the schoolwide intercom.
