Principal's Message

A Message From The Principal
Andres

Dear Faculty, Staff, Students, and Parents of Whittier High School,

My name is Mr. Andres Favela and I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Whittier High School. It is with great enthusiasm that I join this esteemed institution known for its dedication to academic excellence and fostering a supportive learning environment.

I bring with me 26 years of experience in education, having served in various capacities that have shaped my passion for student success. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

My last 15 years have afforded me the experience in working as a school leader for the Los
Angeles Unified School District. My first experiences as principal were at San Antonio
Elementary School in the city of Huntington Park and Ford Bl Elementary School in East Los
Angeles. After five years of being an elementary school principal, I had the honor of being the
principal at Clinton Middle School in South Central Los Angeles. And most recently, I was the
principal of Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. My leadership journey in education has
been deeply influenced by the belief that every student deserves a nurturing and challenging
educational experience, and I am committed to upholding these values here at Whittier High
School.

I am particularly excited to engage with the students and families of Whittier High School. Your
perspectives and experiences are invaluable, and I look forward to listening to your ideas and
aspirations. Together, we will create a positive and inclusive school culture where every student
feels valued and inspired to achieve their full potential.
I am deeply committed to serving the needs of our students and community, and I am excited
about the possibilities that lie ahead for our school. Together, I am confident that we will
continue to build upon the strong legacy of excellence that defines Whittier High School.

Sincerely,

Andres A. Favela
