The Cardinal Computer Academy has been a part of Whittier High School for twenty years. The academy focus is on student preparation for the future! Academy students share classes in Social Science, English, Spanish, and Technology for three years and become a close, supportive group. Field trips, college visits, community mentors in the junior year, and internships in the senior year create a wealth of opportunities for students.
Leadership development opportunities are available through the CCA Class Council, FBLA, and the Student Chamber of Commerce. Community service is a part of each student's experiences as we give to our community through Adopt a Classroom projects with our mentors and through our independent projects at churches, as coaches, and as tutors.
Academy students may earn college credit on a class by class basis through articulation agreements with Rio Hondo College and may also recieve college credit through ACE Colleges across the United States when Microsoft Office Specialist Certifications are achieved. Free testing is offered to academy students through their technology courses.
Freshman students may join the academy in the spring to begin their CCA experience as sophomores!
