ELPAC

The Initial ELPAC is the required state test for English Language Proficiency (ELP) that is given to students whose primary language is a language other than English. State and federal law requires that local educational agencies (LEAs) administer a state test for ELP to eligible students in kindergarten through grade twelve. The purpose of the Initial ELPAC is to determine the English proficiency of students entering California schools for the first time. Identifying students who need help learning in English is important so students get the support they need to do well in school while receiving instruction in all school subjects.

 

El ELPAC inicial es la prueba estatal requerida para el dominio del idioma inglés (ELP) que se administra a los estudiantes cuyo idioma principal es un idioma distinto del inglés. Las leyes estatales y federales exigen que las agencias educativas locales (LEA) administren una prueba estatal de ELP a los estudiantes elegibles desde jardín de infantes hasta el grado doce. El propósito del ELPAC inicial es determinar el dominio del inglés de los estudiantes que ingresan a las escuelas de California por primera vez. Identificar a los estudiantes que necesitan ayuda para aprender inglés es importante para que los estudiantes obtengan el apoyo que necesitan para tener un buen desempeño en la escuela mientras reciben instrucción en todas las materias escolares.
