Online Teaching 3/16-4/3:

Students and Parents,

 

I recognize that we are in uncharted territory here as we do our best to help flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19 by continuing learning online. There are many resources available to ensure all students have access to online curriculum. Please contact me if you need assistance accessing these resources. I will be using Google Classroom to post assignments that must be completed by students at home and turned in via Google Classroom. The content of these assignments will be a review from previous courses and previous units from their current course. It is very important that students complete this work while the school is on dismissal. If students need help with assignments, I will be available via email to offer support. We are in this together and I am here to support my students in any way I can as students continue to learn.

About Mrs. Cabrera's math classes
Mrs. Cabrera teaches Algebra 2 and Algebra 1 9th Math Support. The lesson for each day and the homework for each night is found on each unit calendar and will be in Google Classroom while on dismissal. The codes to each google classroom is above. Students' grade for this class is 70% tests and 30% homework. All tests will be taken once students return to WHS' campus.
 
About Mrs. Cabrera
I was born and raised in North County San Diego. I moved to Los Angeles to earn an undergraduate degree from Biola University and a masters in Education from Whittier College. This is my 9th year teaching and my 8th year teaching at Whittier High School. I also serve as the math department co-chair and a curriculum assessment support coach for the Whittier Union High School District. I got married in July of 2017 and my husband is a math teacher at La Serna High School. We have a six month old daughter who we absolutely love and adore. We live in Whittier. We love our city, community, district and schools.
