SAT
The SAT Subject Tests are either a required or recommended component of the admissions process at approximately 160 private colleges and universities. At the UC school system, Subject Tests are generally not required, though some programs recommend them. You may take up to three SAT Subject Tests on a single test date. Each Subject Test is scored on a 200 to 800 point scale.
These test dates and deadlines apply to all students—U.S. and international—taking the SAT:

ACT
The ACT has four sections: English, Reading, Math, and Science, as well as an optional 30-minute writing test. Some schools may require the writing test, so be sure to ask before you register for the ACT. You will earn one ACT score (1 to 36) on each test (English, Reading, Math, and Science) and a composite ACT score, which is an average of these four tests. The composite score falls between 1 and 36.
